The latest in the FIFA crisis – Sep Blatter has won, despite corruption scandal, a fifth term as the most powerful man in football, his opponent Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein withdrew.
Luis Figo had this to say upon hearing Mr. Blatter had won the election “If Mr. Blatter were minimally concerned about football or had a minimal of decency he would resign in the next few days.”
This election comes after authorities arrested seven FIFA officials in Zurich on corruption charges on Wednesday morning. Funnily enough The Simpsons forecasted FIFA arrests in an episode in March 2014, a fact many on social media were keen to point out.

Springfield’s finest were visited by a representative from world football’s governing body, who, before being handcuffed by authorities, calls for Homer – “a symbol of integrity” to referee at the World Cup.
