The Netherland Squad lodgings for the Global Competition 2022 in Qatar is luxurious with spectacular views

Global Competition – Training Venues
The training venues for the Netherlands squad is only a few minutes’ drive from the hotel which is at the local university.
In addition to this, the St Regis Doha hotel is wonderfully situated, close to the Pearl-Qatar man-made island, a short 15 minute drive to City Centre Mall and less than 1.2 miles from the Qatar Exhibition centre.
The Netherlands squad is captioned by 29 year old Virgil van Dijk.
He plays the position of centre-back and is considered as one of the best defenders in the world. He is a professional footballer and plays for Liverpool, Premier League club and the Netherlands National Team.
Their coach is former Manchester United and Barcelona boss Louis Van Gaal, who is reportedly fighting an aggressive prostate cancer. After revealing his diagnosis on Dutch television, he said that he plans to carry out his role as coach for the Netherlands squad and prepare them for the Global Competition.
The Netherlands squad are up against hosts Qatar, Senegal and Ecuador in the group stages of the Global Competition which kicks off in November.

Let’s take a look at the Dutch national team’s Global Competition history
1974 Global Competition: Holland vs. West Germany
The Dutch team were formidable opponents and nearly became world champions in 1974. They demolished the Brazil and Argentina teams but were beaten in the final by West Germany the host country 2-1.
1978 Global Competition: Holland vs. Argentina
Once again the Dutch side reached the finals and were on the verge of victory against Argentina, the hosts. Except Argentina scored two goals in extra time to win 3-1
2010 Global Competition: Holland vs. Spain
The Dutch team won every game in the finals in South Africa, the host country. Once again they were a finalist this time against Spain. The Spaniards scored a goal in extra time breaking the tie and winning the Global Competition.
2014 Global Competition: Holland vs. Brazil
The Global Competition was held in Brazil.
Under the guidance of Coach Louis van Gaal the Dutch team played their opening match against former world champion Spain who they beat by 5-1. They went on to beat Australia (3-2) and Chili (2-0), becoming the overall winner in their group. They then won their matches against Mexico (2-1) and Costa Rica (penalties: 4-3), playing against Argentina in the semi-final. Argentina beat the Netherlands 4-2.

The Dutch team did win against Brazil and received the bronze in the 2014 World Championship.
Global Competition 2018
The Global Competition 2018 was held in Russia which the Netherlands failed to qualify for.
