Bellator with eyes set on Francis Ngannou

Feb 6, 2023 | MMA

In January, Francis Ngannou became one of the top free agents after not reaching an agreement with the UFC. Now, he is seeking advantageous proposals from MMA or boxing organizations. Scott Coker, Bellator’s leader, confirmed the organization’s interest in hiring Ngannou.

He will meet with the former heavyweight champion to negotiate and try to convince him to sign a contract. Coker guarantees that Ngannou will have no problems with salaries or permission to fight in other sports, if he signs with Bellator. The event promoter emphasizes that Ngannou will have the organization’s support to fulfill his desires. Francis Ngannou, at 36, is one of the legends of MMA, having started his career in the UFC in 2015.

He has an impressive list of victories over respected names, including Alistair Overeem, Andrei Arlovski, Cain Velasquez, Curtis Blaydes (twice), Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Junior ‘Cigano’ and Stipe Miocic. In addition, he defeated Ciryl Gane in his only title defense. With his imposing physique and ability, Ngannou is widely considered one of the best fighters in heavyweight history.

Now, having left the organization, he can finally fulfill his ambition of boxing.
