After being widely speculated, Roberto Firmino’s departure from Liverpool at the end of the season has been officially confirmed by the English club in a statement released on Wednesday. Alongside the Brazilian forward, three other players will also leave the team as their contracts expire in June: Keita, Milner, and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The group of four players was part of the team that achieved victory in the 2018/19 Champions League and secured the Premier League title for Liverpool after a 30-year hiatus three seasons ago. They were also champions of the FA Cup and the English League Cup in the 2021/22 season under the guidance of Jürgen Klopp.
Liverpool expressed its gratitude for the players and announced that they will receive special tributes at Anfield during the last home game of the season. The team will face Aston Villa on Saturday in a crucial match of the penultimate round of the Premier League. Currently, Liverpool is only one point behind Manchester United and Newcastle, the teams occupying the positions within the top four (G-4).
