Last Thursday, UFC President Dana White shared crucial information.
Using the organization’s social media platforms, the franchise’s president unveiled the details of three matchups that will take the main stage in future company events.
Following a chronological order, the president revealed the highlights of the UFC events scheduled for August 5th and 26th, as well as the main event of the edition set for September 2nd.
These three confirmed fights involve renowned fighters from the bantamweight (61 kg), featherweight (66 kg), and heavyweight divisions of the organization.
The first confirmed main event will take place in Nashville, USA, on August 5th, marking UFC’s return to the city after four years. Cory Sandhagen, currently ranked number 4 in the bantamweight division, will face Umar Nurmagomedov, cousin of Khabib and undefeated in MMA with a record of 16 wins and no losses.
In the same month, on August 26th, a highly anticipated matchup between two famous featherweights is being planned: Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung, commonly known as the “Korean Zombie.” This fight became official after the former Hawaiian champion expressed his desire to face the veteran Asian fighter.
Finally, on September 2nd, the UFC will make its return to France, specifically in Paris, with a main event featuring two heavyweights. Cyril Gane, a local fighter, will seek to bounce back from his loss to Jon Jones as he takes on Serghei Spivac, currently ranked number 8 in the division.
