In the NBA Draft event held on Thursday in New York, teams made their selections. French player Victor Wembanyama, standing at an impressive 2.25 meters tall, was considered the favorite to be chosen by the San Antonio Spurs, who had the first pick in the draft and confirmed their decision to recruit the talented athlete. Following that, the Charlotte Hornets selected forward Brandon Miller.
Center Victor Wembanyama will be the standout player for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2023/24 season and, interestingly, will be the tallest player in the league. Spurs fans closely followed the selection at the AT&T Center in Texas and celebrated enthusiastically at the announcement. Wembanyama’s arrival promises to bring high expectations and excitement to the Texas-based fanbase.
The Portland Trail Blazers chose Scoot Henderson as their draft pick. The guard, who came from the G League Ignite, will join Damian Lillard on the team. The Houston Rockets selected twin Amen Thompson, while his brother, Ausar Thompson, was chosen by the Detroit Pistons.
Furthermore, the Orlando Magic opted for Anthony Black, who will join Paolo Banchero, the first pick in the 2022 draft. With the seventh pick, Bilal Coulibaly was selected by the Indiana Pacers but will be traded to the Washington Wizards. Following that, the Wizards announced the selection of Jarace Walker, who will be transferred to the Indiana Pacers.
