James Harden delivered sharp criticisms towards Daryl Morey, the executive of the Philadelphia 76ers. After requesting a trade, the point guard released a video in which he directly accused the general manager of being dishonest, stating that he has no intention whatsoever of remaining with the team.
“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be part of an organization he is a part of. I will say it again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be part of an organization he is a part of,” said Harden in a video recorded in China.
Harden’s response comes a few days after the announcement that the 76ers had given up on trading him. The point guard had made the request to be transferred at the beginning of the free agency period, when he automatically activated the contract extension with the team for another year.
Harden desires to be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. However, so far, no agreement has been reached with the 76ers, leading the Philadelphia team to abandon the negotiations.
The Philadelphia 76ers’ preseason is scheduled to start in September. As reported by U.S. media, Harden does not plan to report for duty again if he is not traded.
