After the disappointing performance of the United States in the Basketball World Cup, the NBA ‘s top stars are planning a return to the national team to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to information from “The Athletic,” LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant have already expressed their interest in representing the country.
This trio is leading a collective movement of NBA stars who want to play together, potentially forming another edition of the Dream Team, the USA’s basketball team comprised of the league’s top players. Additionally, several other players have individually expressed their interest in joining the team.
It’s worth noting that the United States achieved fourth place in the Basketball World Cup, fielding a roster without its top NBA stars. The team was defeated in the semifinals by Germany, who eventually became the champions, and subsequently lost to Canada in the battle for third place. Key players included Anthony Edwards from the Minnesota Timberwolves, Austin Reaves from the Los Angeles Lakers, and Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets.
