On Saturday, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 125-108 in the opening game of the NBA preseason held at the Chase Center Arena in San Francisco, California. The highlight of the game was the highly anticipated debut of Chris Paul for the Golden State, while LeBron James, the Lakers’ star, was still recovering from an injury and watched the game from the bench. A new addition for the Lakers was the presence of point guard Gabe Vincent, who played his first game for the team.
Although Anthony Davis scored the opening points for the Lakers, the Warriors quickly took control of the game. The home team built an advantage in the first quarter and maintained control throughout the match.
In his debut, Chris Paul played for 13 minutes, scored 6 points, provided 5 assists, and grabbed 4 rebounds. The top scorer of the game was Jonathan Kuminga, who scored 24 points and had a 50% three-point shooting percentage, making 4 out of 8 attempts.
On the Lakers’ side, Gabe Vincent played for 20 minutes in his first game for the franchise, contributing 7 points, 4 assists, 1 block, and 1 rebound.
