Al-Hilal triumphed over Mumbai City with a 6-0 victory in a clash during the third round of the Asian Champions League group stage held last Monday. Even with Neymar sidelined due to injury, Mitrovic stood out by scoring a hat-trick in the match. The Brazilian player is dealing with a knee ligament rupture and will undergo surgery.
Al-Hilal opened the scoring in Riyadh with Mitrovic at the five-minute mark of the game. The second goal for the Saudi team came at the 22-minute mark in the second half, again courtesy of the Serbian center-forward, who would go on to score again 13 minutes later. The rout was completed by Milinkovic-Savic, Al-Breik, and Al-Malki.
Following this victory, Al-Hilal leads Group D with 7 points, the same as the second-placed Navbahor. Nassaji Mazandaran, with 3 points, and Mumbai City, still without any points, complete the group. In the next round, Jorge Jesus’ team will face Mumbai City once more, but this time the match will be in India on November 6th.
