The Premier League has a solitary leader. Tottenham defeated Fulham 2-0 last Monday, concluding the ninth round, and reclaimed the top spot in the standings. They are now leading in isolation, with a two-point advantage over the second-placed Manchester City.
Tottenham has accumulated 23 points, establishing themselves as the undisputed leaders of the Premier League. Manchester City and Arsenal are in second place, both with 21 points, while Liverpool rounds out the top four with 20 points. On the other hand, Fulham is in 13th place with 11 points. Tottenham’s next challenge will be an away game against Crystal Palace this Friday. Meanwhile, the team of Andreas Pereira and Willian will face Brighton on Sunday.
Tottenham once again displayed security and efficiency in their performance, securing the victory by pressing Fulham’s ball distribution. Ange Postecoglou’s team opened the scoring at 36 minutes into the first half, following an interception by Van de Vem. Richarlison gained possession and, with a deft touch, set up Son through the middle, who finished with precision, marking his seventh goal in the Premier League. At the start of the second half, at nine minutes, Son returned the favor, serving Maddison on the left, and the number 10 successfully found the net against goalkeeper Leno, extending the lead to 2-0.
