In a surprising turn of events, Milan defeated PSG 2-1 and secured their first victory in the current edition of the Champions League held at the San Siro. In the fourth-round match of Group F, considered the “Group of Death,” the Italian team fell behind when the defender Skriniar scored a goal after eight minutes. Three minutes later, Rafael Leão scored an unusual goal to level the score. In the second half, at the five-minute mark, Olivier Giroud scored Milan’s second goal, sealing the result.
With this win against PSG, their first in the competition, Milan reached five points and now occupies the third position in the Group F table of the Champions League. This caused Newcastle, who led the group after the second round, to now be in last place with four points. The English team suffered two consecutive defeats to Borussia Dortmund, who leads the group with seven points. PSG is in second place with six points. Thus, only three points separate the leader from the last-placed team in the Group of Death in the Champions League.
