After unveiling the date of his upcoming boxing match and keeping the opponent’s identity under wraps, Jake Paul has finally disclosed the name of the fighter he will face on December 15. Through social media, the renowned YouTuber announced that he will go head-to-head with professional boxer Andre August, who boasts a record of ten victories, one draw, and one defeat. The event is set to take place in Florida, USA.
The bout will consist of eight rounds in the cruiserweight category (90.7 kg). Despite August’s relatively modest track record, he stands as the most experienced opponent Jake Paul has encountered in the realm of professional boxing. Prior to August, English boxer Tommy Fury, responsible for Jake Paul’s sole defeat, held the highest level of professional experience in the sport.
Jake Paul shared his expectations on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), acknowledging August’s superior skills in knockouts, victories, and experience. However, he expressed his willingness to take on this challenge, viewing the fight as the beginning of his journey toward becoming a world champion, emphasizing the importance of “good old boxing.”
Renowned for his online presence, Jake Paul embarked on his professional boxing journey in 2020. Since then, he has accumulated seven victories, including matchups with notable figures in mixed martial arts, such as former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, as well as Nate Diaz. With only one loss on his record, the young American sensation appears determined to alter his trajectory by facing renowned boxers, addressing criticisms, and striving to achieve the coveted world title.
