Alex Poatan seeks his second title at UFC 295, facing Jiri Procházka in the light heavyweight division in New York. The Brazilian had previously won the middleweight title by defeating Israel Adesanya, his former rival, who later defeated him in a rematch to reclaim the championship.
After the loss, Poatan announced his decision to move up a weight class. Adesanya, on his YouTube channel, commented, “These middleweights can get on their knees and thank me because I took this man out of there. Otherwise, you would have to deal with him repeatedly, all of you. I doubt any of you would want to fight this guy. I did it four times, but I only managed once.”
Adesanya, after losing the title to Sean Strickland, announced a hiatus in his career.
