With an impressive performance, point guard Tyrese Maxey stood out in the Philadelphia 76ers’ victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, with a score of 137-126. Scoring 50 points, the highest in his career, Maxey overshadowed the performance of center Joel Embiid, who also had an excellent game with 37 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. This win puts the Sixers at eight victories in nine games this season, leading the Eastern Conference and boasting the best record in the NBA at the moment.
Maxey, with 20 baskets in 32 attempts, along with seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks, surpassed his previous record of 44 points against the Toronto Raptors in October 2022. After the game, he dedicated the victory to Kelly Oubre Jr., a forward on the team, who had an accident on Saturday.
Stephen Curry shone once again, surpassing the mark of eleven consecutive three-pointers on Sunday, but the Golden State Warriors were defeated by the Minnesota Timberwolves, 116-110. Curry scored 38 points, making five three-pointers, but the overall team performance fell below expectations. Only three other players (Klay Thompson, Dario Saric, and Jonathan Kuminga) scored 10 or more points.
In the game between the Denver Nuggets and the Houston Rockets, despite a brilliant performance by Nikola Jokic, who recorded a triple-double with 36 points, 21 rebounds, and 11 assists, the Nuggets couldn’t secure a victory. The Rockets’ bench, especially Alperen Sengun (23 points) and Fred VanFleet (26 points), significantly contributed to Houston’s sixth consecutive win.
