On Saturday night, Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. was hit by a car in the city center, resulting in a broken rib. The 27-year-old player was immediately taken to the hospital after the accident and was discharged hours later.
Due to the incident, Oubre was removed from the list of players slated for the game against the Indiana Pacers. He will undergo reevaluation in a week, with the possibility of returning to training on Tuesday, although he won’t be participating in physical activities, according to the official schedule of the 76ers.
Team coach Nick Nurse commented on the situation, stating that Kelly is at home and doing well. He highlighted the traumatic nature of the incident and emphasized the importance of rest and recovery. In the game against the Pacers on Sunday, several fans displayed signs wishing Oubre a speedy recovery.
