New York Knicks’ forward Josh Hart made waves on the internet with a play during their 114-98 loss to the Boston Celtics on Monday night.
In a play near the dead zone, as he received a pass and jumped to shoot, Hart noticed the presence of defender Jrue Holiday. To avoid a traveling violation, he threw the ball off his opponent’s back and then made the free throw to convert a three-point play.
The play quickly went viral on social media. The official NBA profile in Brazil highlighted the “exceptional basketball IQ,” while the Knicks’ account expressed disbelief at the move.
“How? What? It’s counting!” – posted the Knicks’ account.
In total, Hart recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists but couldn’t prevent the Knicks’ home defeat. Boston Celtics’ standout was Jayson Tatum, contributing 35 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists.
New York Knicks currently hold a record of five wins and six losses at the start of this NBA season, while the Boston Celtics boast nine wins and only two losses so far.
